Martha Project "THRIFT STORE":   HELP IS NEEDED TO PROVIDE SERVICE TO OTHERS!  Anyone wishing to work at the Martha Project "Thrift Shop" on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday please contact Phyllis Lumsden at 943-8023.

The store is currently open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on each of those four weekdays, except closing on Saturday at noon.  We are looking for more volunteers to operate the "Thrift Store" during those hours and perhaps expand into the afternoons and also on Monday.

Martha Project "FOOD DISTRIBUTION":  The food you can contribute for the month of October is "boxed cereal".

The Albemarle Food Bank truck will be at the Martha Project each third Tuesday, at 10:30 to have several hundred pounds of food unloaded.  Please come to help unload the truck.

Fourth Thursdays, the food boxes will be packed at Martha Project.  Please contact Phyllis Lumsden at 943-8023 if you are able to help.  Packing starts at 10:00 a.m..

Fourth Fridays, food will be distributed at Martha Project from 8:00am until 11:00am. If you would like to help move boxes food for those registered to receive food, or just be there to help minister to those in need, call Phyllis Lumsden at 943-8023.

Martha Project:  Is located in Belhaven, NC on Main Street (Intersection of UC 99 and US 264) behind the Wilco Hess convenience store.  It has been a project of Bath United Methodist Church for several years, but has had select individuals volunteer from a variety of other local churches on a regular and very valuable basis.

There are currently developmental plans that will expand the services and scope of this mission to include participation and volunteers from more churches of the Belhaven area.  Larger facilities are being explored that will allow this project to expand its services to more residents of eastern Beaufort county.

Currently, the Martha Project facility is accepting well-cared for, high quality, slightly used clothing for resell to those who are require good clothing at very economical prices.  The proceeds of the "THRIFT STORE" are used to fund the "FOOD DISTRIBUTION" project to those who pre-qualify and are registered.  Contact Phyllis Lumsden at 943-8023, to find out more about how to qualify.  Other special mission projects are also funded with the proceeds.
